It’s almost time to throw a party! Paul McCartney and Heather Mills are 6 weeks and 1 day closer to the end of their marriage. Today, a London High Court judge finally granted a “decree nisi” which under British divorce law means a preliminary divorce, which brings the divorce one step closer to being over. Next step will be to wait out the 6 weeks and 1 day and then let the champagne flow.
Neither McCartney nor Mills appeared at the hearing today with Justice Hugh Bennett, but because the couple has been apart for two years, this process can move forward. Mills must be chomping at the bit because she will receive $48.6 million when the fat lady finally sings.
The mismatched pair married in 2002, four years after McCartney’s first wife Linda passed away. Not able to make the union work, the two went their separate ways in May of 2006. Macca filed for divorce two months later. The couple share custody of their four year old daughter Beatrice.

Lindsay Lohan had been slated to appear in the movie The Manson Girls, detailing the crimes of convicted killer Charles Manson. The actress has apparently had a change of heart. Rumors were running rampant that she was being axed from the role because the other actors in the film didn’t want to work with the celeb.
Lohan’s rep Leslie Sloane, said that the star was interested at one point in doing the Manson movie and went on to tell Reuters:
Unfortunately (the Manson movie) didn’t come together quickly enough, and she was offered other roles, which she accepted and is looking forward to doing.”
The first project that we will be able to see the young actress in will be the hit ABC show Ugly Betty. Lohan has signed on to appear in six episodes. Another project coming up for Lohan is a film called Labor Pains, produced by Rick Schwartz. In the film Lohan pretends she is pregnant in hopes of saving her job.
This seems like it would be the right time to show the producers and other big wigs in Hollywood that she is trying to get her career back in order and is able to stay sober and arrive on time for her commitments. It wouldn’t hurt if she discontinued her latest practice of coat stealing either.

Hulk Hogan and Linda Bollea’s son Nick Bollea began to serve his 8 month sentence immediately after it was handed down to him today. The sentence stems from a crash that Nick was involved in on Aug. 6, 2007 in which he left the scene and his critically injured passenger John Graziano without rendering aid.
Not only will Nick serve jail time but he will also be under 5 years probation and in that time will have to do 500 hours of community service. The 17 year old will not be allowed to drink alcohol and will have his drivers license taken away for 3 years.
Hulk Hogan was present for the hearing and watched as his son was taken from the courtroom directly to jail. There was no time for goodbye’s.
The victim in the crash was a Marine and the judge wants Nick to use his community service time to do something positive, “that reflects what John did in his service to our country as a Marine.”
Because Bollea only had a few prior speeding tickets under his belt, the jury did not enforce a guilty verdict and allowed his “no contest” plea to hold up in court. Nick truly received a gift and will not have a felony conviction on his record when he turns 18 this summer.
Bollea’s lawyer was the only one to address the media and said that Nick was pleased with the sentence, and happy to get the court case behind him.
Hopefully the Graziano family feel like some justice was served and can continue to concentrate on John’s recovery. To see the picture of the car after the crash click here.

Last night’s grand finale of MTV’s reality competition Rock the Cradle brought many surprises and one of them was Britney Spears. No, she didn’t sing but she was in the audience.
Britney’s old manager and maybe new manager, Larry Rudolph, is an executive producer on the show. He mentioned to Britney earlier in the day that the finale would be later that evening so the pop star decided to surprise him and stopped by to say hi.
Earlier in the day Britney enjoyed a visit with her young sons. Rudolph was reportedly thrilled that she came to support him and remarked that she was there not seeking publicity but was genuinely interested in lending her support to his show. She was with her security detail and spent most of her time behind the stage, and out of the limelight.
The shows top three finalists were Jess Blaze Snider (Dee Snider’s son), Chloe Lattanzi (Olivia Newton-John’s daughter) and Crosby Loggins (Kenny Loggin’s son.)

Crosby Loggins took top honors and second place went to Jess Blaze Snider (interesting middle name), which leaves Chloe in the clean up spot.
Loggins landed the $100,000 recording contract. It looks like all those keyboard lessons from the age of seven paid off.

Actress/Model Liv Tyler and her husband, British rocker Royston Langdon have decided to go their separate ways. The two have confirmed the separation and have committed to remaining good friends and will continue to devote their time to the couple’s 3 year old son Milo.
Liv Tyler had already fueled speculation at New York’s Costume Institute Gala on Monday night without a wedding ring. Friends of the couple claim the relationship has been on the rocks for some time. New York Daily News attempted to get a comment from 30 year old Tyler, but she passed on the opportunity.
The couple were married in the Caribbean in 2003 and have requested that their family’s privacy be respected at this time, according to People magazine.
