Loni Anderson will soon walk down the aisle with the love of her life after a 45 years break. The 62 year old actress has reconnected with Bob Flick and will soon exchange wedding vows with her old flame.
Flick was a 24 year old bass player with The Brothers Four when Loni Anderson was a 17 year old Minnesota girl with a big crush. Anderson was doing some modeling while attending high school and apparently caught the eye of the older musician. The couple dated for 6 months and drifted apart - probably much to the relief of her parents.
Fate played a role in the couple reuniting after all these years. She looked him up when she was doing a charity event in his hometown. She immediately felt the same chemistry that had ignited her heart so many years ago.
The beaming bride, best known for her role in WKRP in Cinncinnati, will wed for the fourth time. One of her marriages was to Hollywood actor Burt Reynolds. Anderson is really revved up about reconnecting with Flick. She said:
I should’ve married him 40 years ago — he was the one I should’ve married in the first place, so now I get my chance.”

Talk show host Ellen DeGeneres taped Friday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday. It was the same day that California’s Supreme Court struck down a California law banning gay marriage. On Friday morning’s show Ellen announced her intention to marry partner Portia de Rossi.
Loose lips may sink ships but audience members apparently let slip the fact that a big announcement was to be a part of Friday’s show. Portia, 35, was in the studio and she and Ellen, 50, received huge applause when Ellen declared their intentions. On Friday’s show Ellen said:
I would like to say for the first time, I am announcing that I am getting married. We’re very, very excited. Forgive me for getting emotional. If I’m getting this emotional now, I can’t imagine what it will be like when we get married.”
The court ruling means same-sex couples could tie the knot in as little as a month so it could be a June celebration for the celebrity couple. Those interested in taking advantage of the landmark decision should not dally because religious and social conservatives are seeking to put a constitutional amendment on the ballot in November that would undo the Supreme Court ruling and ban gay marriage.
DeGeneres and the glamorous de Rossi of Ally McBeal and Nip/Tuck fame have been a familiar couple at Hollywood events. Previously, DeGeneres had a high-profile relationship with actress Anne Heche, who reportedly has hit a bad patch and is in financial trouble.

Whitney Thompson was named America’s Next Top Model on Wednesday and by Thursday she was gracing the cover of Seventeen Magazine’s July 2008 issue. The 20 year old made history because she is the first plus-size winner in the history of the show.
Thompson had this to say about being a plus-size winner:
People always say you have to be stick-skinny, emaciated and unhealthy and I’ve kind of stood up for being full-figured my whole life. I’m not going to lose 50 pounds - if someone asks me to do that, I’ll go to another modeling agency.
Thompson will hit the TV circuit with planned visits to Live with Regis & Kelly and The Early Show in the near future. In addition to her six page fashion spread in Seventeen magazine, she will receive a modeling contract from Elite Modeling.

Whitney Thompson took top honors on this seasons “America’s Next Top Model” competition. The 20 year old made history because she is the first plus-size winner in the history of the show.
Thompson had this to say about her win:
People always say you have to be stick-skinny, emaciated and unhealthy and I’ve kind of stood up for [being full-figured] my whole life. I’m not going to lose 50 pounds - if someone asks me to do that, I’ll go to another [modeling] agency. I’ve already heard online from boys and girls all over the world who are dealing with eating disorders. They’re thanking me for standing up and saying, ‘I am a plus-size model and I am beautiful.’ This is what people should look like rather than skin-and-bones, which is disgusting and sends a bad message to people everywhere.”
Thompson is from Atlantic Beach, Florida and believes she has a great deal in common with the shows host Tyra Banks, who has been the recipient of much criticism over a series of unflattering bikini photos.
So now Thompson will hit the TV circuit with planned visits to Live with Regis & Kelly and The Early Show. She will also do a fashion spread in Seventeen magazine and receive a modeling contract from Elite Modeling.

Hugh Grant, his ex-girlfriend Liz Hurley and her husband Arun Nayar traveled to an island resort in the Maldives in October 2007. While enjoying their tropical vacation, the trio and Hurley’s 5 year old son Damian Bing were photographed with long lens camera equipment and the photos ended up in several newspapers.
The photos showed Hurley’s young son running naked on the beach. The boys father is multi-millionaire film producer Stephen Bing. Because the trio thought it was “reprehensible” that these private photos were released for public viewing, they filed suit against The Big Pictures and Eliot Press Sarl.
The two agencies have agreed to pay $113,000 to the trio and they have issued a public apology. The trio plan to donate the money to charity. Grant has won similar lawsuits in 1995 and 2007 against News (UK) Ltd, Daily Mail and Mail on Sunday.
Grant and Hurley had a 13 year relationship that spanned 1987-2000. Their parting was amicable and they remain close friends who vacation together. By the way, young Damian Bing is Grant’s godson. We liken the arrangement between these close friends to that of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore. Very rare indeed.

Barack Obama was at the Chrysler LLC plant in Detroit earlier this week when he was asked a question by WXYZ-TV reporter Peggy Agar. She asked Obama what he was “going to do to help American autoworkers.” It was his response that put him into backpedal mode later in the day.
Obama’s response was:
Hold on one second, sweetie. We’ll do a press (availability), thanks.”
Apparently he realized his gaff and his team managed to get a phone number where Obama could leave a voicemail apology. Agar’s station played the message on the air yesterday. Viewers were able to hear Obama apologizing for not getting back to her. He also mentioned that he has a bad habit of calling people “sweetie”. He said:
Hi Peggy. This is Barack Obama. I’m calling to apologize on two fronts. One was you didn’t get your question answered and I apologize. I thought that we had set up interviews with all the local stations. I guess we got it with your station but you weren’t the reporter that got the interview. And so, I broke my word. I apologize for that and I will make up for it.”
Second apology is for using the word ’sweetie.’ That’s a bad habit of mine. I do it sometimes with all kinds of people. I mean no disrespect and so I am duly chastened on that front. Feel free to call me back. I expect that my press team will be happy to try to make it up to you whenever we are in Detroit next.”
Ms Agar said the apology surprised her and she has been called worse. She was reportedly more concerned he had not answered her question. She commented:
People in Michigan have to make a decision about who they’re going to vote for… [Mr Obama] could take a second to say what he’s going to do for them.”

OK! Magazine features Reese Witherspoon and Jake Gyllenhaal on the cover of the latest issue with the bold headline stating that they are “Ready to Wed!” The actors met during the 2007 filming of Rendition and are close to announcing an engagement, according to the magazine.
The 32 year old actress divorced Ryan Phillippe in October 2007 after an 8 year union. The couple have a four year old son Deacon and an eight year old daughter Ava.
According to the OK! source:
They’ve been talking marriage for a while. They’ll be formally engaged any day now. They want to spend the rest of their lives together. This is a very serious relationship but Reese is very conservative and traditional. I’m sure she doesn’t want her kids to see her living in sin.”
When contacted by OK!, reps for Witherspoon had no comment. Jake’s people left the door slightly ajar by stating that there are no immediate plans for a wedding. Hmmm. The actor has not previously been married. He is the godfather to Matilda Rose Ledger, daughter of Michelle Williams and the late Heath Ledger.
Jake Gyllenhaal, 27, is currently working on the movie Nailed with Jessica Biel. The couple and the rest of the film crew walked off the work site in a dispute over money this week. Apparently there aren’t enough funds to pay the cast. Screen Actor’s Guild union officials plan to keep all cast members from the film project until the production company deposits the necessary funds into a union-mandated account.
Veteran actor James Caan quit his planned cameo role in the project after getting into a blowout with the director David O’ Russell. The screen play was co-written by Al Gore’s daughter Kristin. It is thought the the money issues will be resolved by next week and the movie should get back into production soon.
