Raquel Welch has been trying to wangle a role on the popular Desperate Housewives since last season. There is renewed talk that the aging actress is slated to play Eva Longoria’s aunt in an upcoming episode. Longoria’s character will become involved with a new male character who is 20 years her senior this season, fueling speculation that the two scenarios might be connected.

Raquel, now 67 , made a return to television on the short lived series Welcome To The Captain recently. She was cast as one of the residents of a Hollywood apartment building. Her character was a 52-year-old actress pretending to be ten years younger. The CBS sitcom debuted in February 2008 and lasted just five episodes before getting the boot.

In January 2007, the actress was revealed as the newest face of MAC Cosmetics Beauty Icon series. Her line features several limited edition makeup shades in glossy black and tiger print packaging.
