Billy Joel and his wife Katie Lee Joel sat down with Oprah on her Oprah Winfrey Show this afternoon. The couple showed some footage of their palatial New York City home. The photo above shows Joel and his wife, during the ceremony where he received a star on the Walk of Fame.

Oprah apparently dished a little dirt on the singer, detailing his scrapes with the law as well as his substance abuse issues. It appeared that Joel was less than comfortable under the microscope.

The singer performed Only the Good Die Young. His wife talked about her new book, The Comfort Table. It will be available for purchase in May. Katie has been featured on Bravo’s Top Chef and has also served as a TV host on Extra. She has also been a judge on Iron Chef America and writes a column in Hampton’s magazine.

Practically raised in her grandmother’s southern kitchen, her passion for cuisine started at an early age. Her family planned their day around the dinner menu, so it is no surprise that she ended up in the food industry.

Billy Joel’s daughter with Christie Brinkley is a pianist and budding singer. Alexa Ray Joel is 22 year old and has dabbled in pop/soul/blues, funk, jazz and country which would seem to indicate that she is still finding herself musically.
