Chloe Marshall has recently won the Miss Surrey 2008 beauty pageant. She will now advance to the Miss England contest, which is open to females age 17-24. She will be eligible to enter photographic contests around the country. The winner of Miss England will go on to the Miss World Final.

The Sun did an interview with the vivacious teen recently. She said:

I wanted to go through to the Miss England finals to break the stereotype that you have to be tall and skinny to be considered beautiful. I wanted to make a bit of a statement. When I studied the other entrants for the competition I concluded that, pretty as they were, they were all uniformly blonde and Barbie doll-like. I want to show girls out there that it is possible to be beautiful and not a standard size zero.

The 5′10″ and 38DD is sweet 16 (will be 17 in time for the pageant) and is also a size 16. She has signed on with Models Plus agency. According to their spokesman, models who reflect real women are desperately needed. The pictures we have included with this article depict a curvy, healthy young woman. This will be in stark contrast to the super skinny young woman who will also be running for the Miss England crown.

The Sun’s Say No To Size Zero campaign aims to stop the exploitation of vulnerable models and the unhealthy message sent out by their emaciated bodies. Chloe Marshall could very well blow the top off of many of the current stereotypes that exist with regard to feminine body image.

This is wonderful. A healthy and curvaceous woman is always preferable over some anorexic waif. Does this also mean that the Sun will not be commenting every time a ’star’ gains 5 pounds?

I’m very happy to see a thick chick in a beauty contest for once, not one of those skinny rails with boobs that gay fashion designers shove down our throat all the time. Real men like real women. This gal is great.

UK size 16 is not the same as a US size 16

She’s probably more like a US size 10.

    Still gorgeous of course.

Having loved or should I say been with a lot of women I can truthfully say that the best aren’t the models that look ravishing dressed but nothing to speak of without being dressed.

A nice healthy farm girl will bring the best out in any man.

I hope the wind keeps blowing all throughout the contest.

Without the dramatic wind-hair effect she might not win.

    Heh… JK.

    Seriously she should win.

Ok now evrybody tell the truth all fat girls arent pretty and all skinny ones arent anorexic crack heads. Most fat people are unattractive and unheathly. if you diagree think about this, if you were looking for say a pair of underwear and there is a big fat out of shape mess of a woman wearing one pair and there is a hot thin girl wearing the other which makes you want to buy it more? and why it that? no not because of the media or anything like that its because its all good and fine to cheer when a fat girl does good but truth be told you want to look like the models you see in victoria secret and there is nothing wrong with that. this girl here isnt a plus sized girl she is just average.

Yeah, big is beautiful, so is type 2 diabetes, which Chloe will no doubt develop as she ages and her metabolism slows down and she packs on more weight. I love how she is presented as a healthy full figured alternative to the standard size zero model, not that the current models present a healthy body image, but this is just the other end of the spectrum and just as dangerous. Giving girls the impression that its OK to be overweight is the same as saying its OK to smoke, drink in excess and have unprotected sex, all of which will result in poor state of health later in life. Not to mention the burden obesity related illnesses place on our healthcare system which effects us all (at least in the US) So please, stop saying go girl, just because she make you feel better about your obesity, educate yourself, change your life and make YOU feel good about you.

This girl is not fat. ha. She looks fine. She is much better than most “models”. This girl even has an expression on her face (not the typical blank emotionless stare). And I bet she can actually carry a conversation. It would be good to see her “win”.

WOW! CHLOE IS GORGEOUS WITH HER INFECTIOUS SMILE.I AM NOT FROM UK.BUT I LIKE TALL AND BIG GIRLS LIKE HER THE MOST. I HEAR SHE LOVES GOOD FOOD AND EATS MERRILY UNLIKE OTHER SKINNY, BONE AND SKIN MODELS.LATER SHE BURNS OUT CALORIES BY RUNNING,HORSE RIDING AND SWIMMING TO CURVE OUT HER BODY INTO SHAPE.I BELIEVE A HEALTHY GIRL AND HEALTHY HABITS LIKE HER SHALL NOT DEVELOP DIABETES AS SOMEONE IS FEARING ABOUT.KEEP IT UP CHLOE!.MANY MANY GOOD WISHES TO YOU TO WIN THE MISS ENGLAND TITLE AND OTHER INTERNATIONAL TITLES.

Thick or thin, but everything in proportion… and her thighs are way out of proportion! She is pretty and is obviously on the thicker side, but most of those pictures are from the waist up, and it is clear from the few that are not that her thighs are much larger in proportion to the rest of her body.

Nice argument, (keep neg to your self) I never said she HAS diabetes and I never said she is obese. I wonder how overweight you are?? I mean I must has struck a chord for you to start name calling, but I guess thats your move since you cant make a valid counter point.
