Robert Downey Jr. was recently awarded the Male Star of the Year by ShoWest Awards. During Downey’s acceptance speech, he chose one person in his life to thank and that was his wife Susan. The two married in 2005.

While the actor has had his share of ups and downs with substance abuse over this acting career, it seems that since his union with Susan, he has been able to keep it together. The actor spoke about his companion and had this to say:

“That behind every great man, there’s a woman with her hand in his back pocket patting his ass and her arm up his back telling his mouth what to do.”

Robert’s next role will be starring with Gwyneth Paltrow in the movie Iron Man.
