Although it has been confirmed that Patrick Swayze does indeed have pancreatic cancer, his physician has issued a statement saying there is “a very limited amount of the disease and it appears to be responding well to treatment,” calling reports that Swayze has five weeks to live “absolutely not true. ”

Whoopi Goldberg, who co-starred with Swayze in “Ghost,” opened up about her special relationship with Swayze this morning on “The View,” and says that he is the reason she won an Oscar.

Goldberg says there was a lot of resistance to having her in the film, but Patrick insisted she was right for the part, and refused to do it without her involvement.
