Last night’s performance of Imagine, sung by 17 year old David Archuleta, was so great that he is now all the talk of American Idol lovers everywhere. Many are even calling him the winner and the season has just begun.

Lucky for David, he has a huge fan base from the 10-16 year old girls, who by the way were going crazy last night after his performance. Another thing David has going for him is that he has not been a part of the Mickey Mouse Club and may have a shot at a legit career.

David’s vocal coach Dean Kaelin talked to Page Six about meeting David at age 11 and how much he has come out of his shell since that time. Kaelin said that David had very few friends when he was young but that once his class heard him sing, he became very popular.
