Actress Natalie Portman has some pretty strong views on marriage and wants to know why the government has anything to do with it. What it all pretty much boils down to is that if gays don’t have the same rights, then she doesn’t want anything to do with the union of marriage.

Portman, currently involved with fashion designer Nathan Bogle, has decided that she does not need a piece of paper to be committed to her partner. Sounds like she’s channeling Angelina Jolie.

Natalie was quoted as saying, “why are they making rules that say my lover can stay in the United States if they’re foreign or share my health care benefits because I’m straight - but if you’re gay, you can’t have that?”

I guess you could look at it two ways standing; staying true to your beliefs and/or ensuring one less divorce.
