Miley Cyrus was given the name Destiny Hope Cyrus at her birth some 15 years ago. We’ve all heard how her father, Billy Ray Cyrus called her Smiley. A young sibling of the pop star couldn’t pronounce that moniker and called her Miley. The name stuck and she has been Miley Cyrus ever since. Not so fast.

The name was never legalized until now, that is. She made the name change official recently and took on her dad’s middle name Ray. You may now refer to her as Miley Ray Cyrus - or Hannah Montana if you must.
