Julianne Hough, 19, is well known for having led two partners to victory on Dancing with the Stars. The gorgeous young woman is going to allow her career to take a slightly different turn. She has signed a contract with Mercury Records and is Nashville bound in search of a new dream.

Hough is set to record her first country western album. Her sister lives in Nashville and apparently has a music background. The two have been busy writing a few songs. Julianne isn’t sure if any of them will end up being recorded this time around but hopes to be able to write some of her own music eventually.

Julianne’s brother Derek Hough, also a professional dancer, is taking the musical leap with his sibling. Julianne reports that he will be doing backup vocals on some of the tracks.

Julianne professes to loving all types of music and names Martina McBride, Fergie, Shania Twain and Faith Hill as her inspirations.

Julianne and dance partner Helio Castroneves won the Dancing with the Stars title this past season. In the season prior, Hough and dance partner and Olympic skater, Apolo Anton Ohno took the trophy. It was widely believed that Helio beat out Spice Girl Mel B. in the last competition because of Julianne’s popularity an fan appeal.
