Actress Jennifer Siebel and San Francisco mayor Gavin Newsom have announced their engagement. They began dating in 2007 and have been photographed frequently engaging in the San Francisco social scene. He was previously married to Kimberly Guilfoyle, attorney and television commentator.

Siebel, 32, plays the role of Barbie in a new movie, April Fools Day, which is set to release on April 1, 2008. Prior to that role, she has appeared in smaller roles, including The Trouble With Romance. She was linked with George Clooney five years ago, right after she came to Hollywood.

Mayor Newsom, 39, weathered a scandal when it was discovered that he was having an affair with his campaign director’s wife, Ruby Rippey Tourk. The woman had served as Newsom’s appointments secretary for several years. Despite that fiasco, the guy with the movie star good looks continues to enjoy a very healthy approval rating from his constituency.
