Frances Bean Cobain, only child of the late Nirvana front man, Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love, is fifteen years old and has had some minor media exposure with a few teen magazine interviews and a photo shoot for ELLE.

Will the teen become more immersed in these areas? Courtney Love says that she is doing everything in her power to keep her daughter out of the spotlight. The former lead singer in the alternative rock band Hole, has had her share of problems with celebrity status. Cobain committed suicide when Frances Bean was just a year old. Love went through years of drug abuse issues that included losing custody of her daughter and receiving multiple court ordered stints in rehab.

Love regained custody of her daughter in early 2006 and they currently live in Los Angeles. She announced in April 2007 that she was organizing a Christie’s Auction to sell some of her late husband Kurt Cobain’s belongings to improve her financial situation. She reportedly had $20 million embezzled from her by her entourage during her years of heavy drug use. The FBI continues to look into those allegations.
