Jodie Foster has publicly acknowledged her lesbian relationship with Cydney Bernard. The occasion of her candid remarks was the Women in Entertainment breakfast where she accepted the Sherry Lancing Leadership Award.

The actress, 44, a double Oscar winner, took the podium to accept her award and she referred to Bernard as “my beautiful Cydney”. The two have been together 14 years and are raising two boys that were born to Foster.

Why the Hollywood celebrity has finally shared news of her relationship with Bernard is open to speculation. She has guarded her personal situation until now. Some seem to think that she feels her career will no longer be jeopardized by the revelation.
