Julia Roberts blew a cork yesterday and chased down a car load of paparazzi attempting to film her at a school. She gave chase in her Mercedes SUV, flashing her lights and honking her horn in order to get the crew to pull over. When they finally complied, she unleased a nasty tirade that was partially caught on film.

The 40 year old Hollywood star ordered them to turn off their camera – and her tone of voice left no doubt about her level of anger. “Turn it off”, she shouted. “I want to talk to you about the fact that you are at a school where children go. Turn it off.”

Roberts is not the first to take on the paparazzi. Last week her pal George Clooney referred to the camera posse as “bounty hunters” after they chased him on his motorcycle. He expressed his irritation at the careless disregard the paparazzi has for innocent bystanders in their pursuit of celebrity photos. The actor actually got into an altercation with photographers earlier this month, claiming that they broke the law while chasing him.

Clooney went on to say that they are not trying to catch him doing something stupid, but rather are trying to create a situation where he will do something stupid. We are all familiar with this trap – it catches Britney Spears at every turn.

The bottom line for Roberts and Clooney is they aren’t fooled by the paparazzi line, “I’m just doing my job” . They’re mad as hell and they’re not going to take it any more.
