Elizabeth Hasselback, a co-host on “The View” has set a date to begin her maternity leave, according to a spokesman for the show. She is set to work up until her due date - around the first week in November. All bets are off if baby decides to make an earlier appearance. The blessed event happens to coincide with ‘Sweeps’ week - when all of the networks are vying for the biggest share of ratings.

Elizabeth is married to NFL quarterback Tim Hasselbeck, who was recently released by the New York Giants. They have a 2 year old daughter, Grace.

Elizabeth Hasselbeck’s original claim to fame was her appearance on Survivor: Australian Outback. That stint pales in comparison to the very public feud with Rosie O’Donnell that has elevated her to fever pitched ‘gossip worthy’ status.

The View has settled into a friendlier dialogue since Whoppi Goldberg arrived on the scene. It is apparent that Barbara Walters has become gun shy and would prefer to let the show settle into a mediocre daily chat. Too bad.
